Ciara Biography
Jackie Harris (née Smith) and Carlton Clay Harris welcomed Ciara Princess Harris into the world on October 25, 1985 in Killeen, Texas. She was raised on military posts in Germany, New York, Utah, California, Arizona, and Nevada as a result of her father's service in the American Army.
Ciara and her family moved to Atlanta while she was in her teen years. Ciara claimed that she was inspired to pursue a career in music after seeing Destiny's Child perform on television while skipping class. Later, Ciara would practice her songwriting by joining the female group Hear'Say.
The group started to have disagreements after recording demos. She eventually quit the group, obtained a publishing deal, and met producer Jazze Pha, whom she later referred to as her "musical soul mate."
